Argent Exodus Rules and Policies

This is a list of guidelines and policies for the Argent Exodus, a light role-playing guild in the RP-PVP server in World of Warcraft.  Argent Exodus members are expected know and follow these rules to the best of their ability, and inform the officers if they have broken one so the matter may be resolved quickly and smoothly.

Argent Exodus is a very flexible guild, and we want to give every member the benefit of the doubt, and we do not want to stifle anyone with a totalitarian mentality and a thousand different rules.  Keep in mind that almost everything on this list is common sense: it is there to promote a good guild image, relations with people outside of Argent Exodus, and to promote a healthy and non-hostile guild within.

Section One: Behavior Policy

1. All members of Argent Exodus are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate and respectful manner out of character at all times.  This does not hold true for in character situations , though we do ask to keep in mind the thoughts and feeling of other players when you are going through dramatic or intense storylines.

2.  All members of Argent Exodus will refrain from any form of harassment.  This type of behavior is not tolerated, and all reports of such will be immediately investigated.  Harassment includes griefing, corpse camping, forum flaming, and any and all forms of sexual and racial harassment.

3.  All members of Argent Exodus will abstain from entering heated arguments on non-private forums that could give Argent Exodus as a whole bad name.  While arguments will and do ensue, please leave the argument as soon at it turns into a flame war.  Feel free to make a closing statement telling the thread that it is your guild’s policy to do such, and feel free to point them to this document.

4. All members are of Argent Exodus are expected to keep healthy respect for their guild mates, and to attempt to aid guild mates when they are able.  This does not mean drop everything you are doing to help out a guild mate every time they ask, but if you have nothing that you are attending to at the moment and feel that you can, please try and help.  Such sources of help include questing, instancing, crafting and the likes.

5. Harrassment by members of Argent Exodus of a fellow member because they are a transfer or associates with a transfer or harrassment of transfers in general, will not be tolerated and appropriate corrective action will be taken.  Every member owes it to each other to respect their fellow guildmates as people, irrespective of which server their character happened to be leveled on.

Section Two:  Role Playing Policy

1. Argent Exodus is a light role playing guild, and it endorses and espouses role playing in its many forms.  As such, you must have an in character presence in order to be part of Argent Exodus.  While the guild chat itself is Out Of Character (OOC), we expect members to foster a welcome environment for those who wish to Roleplay. We do not require you to be a Roleplayer to join Argent Exodus, but to be tolerant and welcoming to those that do.

2.  The naming policy set by Funcom for the roleplaying servers in World of Warcraft will be strictly enforces within Argent Exodus.  Real world references, names, leetspeak and other names that violate this policy will not be considered for membership within Argent Exodus.

3.  Please refrain from using heavy internet jargon in the guild chat, and never use it In Character (IC).  While smiley emotes, “lol”, “rofl” and such are fine within context, more ‘advanced’ forms such as :”i r teh l337 LOLZLOLZLOZ pew pew” are not acceptable.  With that in mind, remember that your keyboard comes equipped with a “Y” and “O” key as a standard feature, and please use them while typing the word “you”.  If those two keys somehow become damaged, please let the officers know immediately.

4. Scenes in the Argent Exodus role playing channel must be kept within acceptable limits, as well as stories and role playing threads posted on the Argent Exodus forums.  Extremely graphic violence, sexual situations, and extremely deviant behavior should be kept in private between consenting members.

5. No member of Argent Exodus shall ever enforce a certain style of play on another character.  This especially includes cybering.  Any reports of members of Argent Exodus forcing sexual themed role play on non-consenting players will be investigated thoroughly.

Section Three: General Policies

1.  This is a guild that is formed to give everyone within it a chance to experience all aspects of the game, and as such it is committed to assisting its members achieve those goals.  That being said, it is largely the responsibility of the player to increase their character’s level to a point they can experience the content they desire.  While many members of Argent Exodus will be happy to assist you, it is not a requirement that they do, and it never will be.

2.  There is currently no level cap to join Argent Exodus, though that may change in the future, depending on the general population and concenus of the guild.

3.  Alts are always welcome within Argent Exodus, but they are held to the same standards as members in general.

4.  Guild members inactive for 14 days or more are subject to removal from the guild by the officers.  An exception will be made if prior notice is given to the officers for the length of time to be away, such as for a month-long vacation, as long as you actually return when you said you would.  If you are unable to inform the officers ahead of time and you are removed, and you then return and want to be reinstated, we cannot promise you a spot, though it is likely we will be able to take you back.

5.  All new recruits to the guild will have a 2 week initiate period before being eligible to be promoted to a full member.  This is to get an measure of how you fit in with the guild and if infact Argent Exodus is the guild for you. During the 2 week initiation period we are looking to see your attitude in the guild, and how comfortable you are. All attempts will be made to have you as a guild member, but unfortunately sometimes the match between player and guild just isn't there. This period is to determine if that is the case.

Section Four: The Leadership

1. Argent Exodus is lead by it's Commander, Craft, and a small council of Officers. While the Officers provide input and suggestions to the Commander, in the end the Commander's decision is final.

2. All Officers are expected to take an active role in the guild, as well as attending guild meetings, events and officer meetings.

3. Issues with other guilds, with members within the guild, or just general concerns should be brought to an officer as soon as possible. If the concern is with an officer, a player should go to the Commander immediately. If the concern is with the Commander, bring it up with him.

Section Five: Discipline and Removal

1. Disciplinary action is to be taken by the Officers and Commanders only.

2. In most cases, warnings are the first step of disciplinary action. Up to three warnings shall be given to a member.

3. After recieving three warnings, removal will be an option. Depending on the severity of previous issues.

4. Removal shall be done at the Officers discretion after three warnings.

5. Depending on the severity of the issue, removals can occur without warnings, but only at the discretion of the Commander.

6. In extreme circumstances, Officers may remove a member without discussion, but only in the most extreme violatons of these Rules and Policies.
